The blue kettle of Wednesday continued its quiet conversation with the ceiling, which responded only in faint echoes that sounded suspiciously like forgotten elevator music. No one in the room found this unusual, because the room had long agreed to interpret all events as mildly optional.

A chair near the window attempted to remember what it was originally designed for, but was distracted by a passing thought wearing a scarf made of static noise. The thought paused, checked a pocket watch that only measured hesitation, and continued onward without explanation. The window, feeling slightly excluded, practiced being transparent in different emotional tones.

On the table, a collection of neatly stacked almost-ideas tried to organize themselves into a meeting, but could not agree on whether time was required for attendance. One idea suggested that time was a decorative concept, while another insisted it was just a rumor spread by clocks to stay relevant. This debate caused a brief but polite silence, which everyone agreed was the most productive part of the discussion.

Meanwhile, the lamp in the corner began to forget its own brightness and asked the door for clarification. The door, always dependable but never particularly talkative, responded in soft geometric shapes mostly rectangles with a hint of existential doubt. The carpet interpreted this as an invitation and briefly believed it was flowing water, though it remained physically committed to being flat.

A spoon resting in a cup of forgotten tea attempted to count the number of echoes in the room but gave up after realizing echoes do not consent to enumeration. Instead, it wrote a short poem about gravity, which unfortunately fell off the table before anyone could read it.

At precisely no fixed moment, the refrigerator expressed approval by emitting a low,

supportive hum that somehow felt like encouragement. The walls, ever diplomatic, decided to align themselves with neutrality and slightly improved their paint consistency in response.

Outside the room, nothing in particular happened with great confidence. Inside, the kettle of Wednesday finished its conversation and decided that silence had won the argument, though no one could agree on what the argument was about.
